East of England Association of Civic Trust Societies EAST OF ENGLAND ASSOCIATION OF CIVIC TRUST SOCIETIES
Welcome to the East of England Association of Civic Trust Societies' home page.

The Civic Trust Societies East of England Group was formally established in March 2000 when the Constitution was agreed and the first Executive Committee elected. It adopted its present title the East of England Association of Civic Trust Societies (EEACTS) in April 2003.

Civic societies have built up local contacts and knowledge over many years and can play an important role at local or district level. They cannot, however, individually exert real influence at the new and increasingly important regional level.

The regional dimension of government is already established and national government is committed to its expansion - with elected assemblies in the English regions as the likely next step.

When the Civic Trust went into administration in early 2009 this organisation was reconstituted as East of England Civic Societies.
