Retired after spending over 30 years in banking industry. Born in London and spent most of working life there but has lived in Colchester for 20 years. Chair of Colchester Civic Society from 1999 to 2005 and member of the East of England Committee since its formation. Serves as EEACTS representative on East of England Environment Forum and on the Civic Trust National Committee for Civic Societies. Also Trustee and former Treasurer of Colchester Citizens Advice Bureau. Main interests are built environment, heritage and quality of life in town centres.

Interested in the arts (music, theatre, art exhibitions) and natural history (particularly birdwatching). Treasurer of Hertford Civic Society.

After a flying career in the Royal Air Force, followed by some years in operational research, retired, then elected to Suffolk County Council. School Governor for over 20 years. Formed the Hadleigh Society, instigated and chaired the Suffolk Historic Buildings Group and was for some years involved in the Royal Society of Arts serving as Chairman of East Anglian Region. Now runs a consultancy on the history, restoration and conservation of historic buildings and lectures for the Field Studies Council and the Suffolk Preservation Society. Member of EEACTS Committee since 2000 and Chairman from 2001 to 2005. Serves as EEACTS representative on the Historic Environment Forum.

Danny Jeffrey

Retired industrial chemist and microbiologist, still doing occasional consultancy work. Active in politics, was a County Councillor 1981 – 1988, Constituency Chairman 1986 – 1992 and Town Councillor 1995 – 1999. Currently Chairman of the Thetford Branch of the Liberal Democrats and Constituency President, also a member of the Liberal Democrats Norfolk Coordinating Committee. Has lived in Thetford for 34 years, was Chairman of the Tourism Committee 1987, a founder member of the Thetford Society 1989, Membership Secretary 1993 – 1996, Treasurer 1994 – 1998, Chairman 1998 – 2001, currently Activities Chairman and Magazine Editor. Chairman/Vice-Chairman of School Governors, Vice-Chairman of Thetford Probus, member of Thetford Municipal Charities Committee, the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Keystone Partnership. EEACTS Committee member since 2003.
